Australian Mining Jobs for Women and Employment
The mining industry is known for being predominately male. However, time has changed and a large number of women are now seeking to work in this exciting and rewarding industry. Many women are today employed in a range of mining positions.

For a FIFO position you could expect to work up to 8 to 10 days at a time, fly home for a few days off before being flown back to work again. In some cases couples can request to share accommodation and have the same days off.

Nearly 1/5 of the mining industry today is made up of women employees and this is expected to grow over the next 10 years with the demand for employees increasing each year. By the year 2015 women employees can be expected to make up nearly half off the total workforce in the mining industry. Some women are already earning up to $70,00 for operating mine equipment such as operating Dump Trucks.
