Australian Mining Mine Surveyor and Employment
Mine companies commonly employ Mine Surveyors to create detailed maps of areas mine surroundings to help prepare mine sites for mining or to restore mine sites after work is completed. A Mine Surveyor will also spend time underground to make sure the mine stays within the plans.

Considering there is a large number of mine sites located throughout Australia, there may be a Mine Surveyor position available close to where you live. Otherwise you may be interested in a fly in/ fly out (FIFO) position. A typical day for a Mine Surveyor would include operating 4 WD vehicles to reach remote places, using a GPS navigational system to locate sites of interest, perform gridding, extensive map use and moniter mining operations.
A Mine Surveyor position is ideal for you if you:
have a drivers license for the state you wish to work in
can pass a police clearance
able to pass pre-employment medical
have at least 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role
have a degree in Mine Surveying
If you do not have these, we can tell you how to obtain them. If you do not have 1 to 2 years experience as a Mine Surveyor you can still apply for the position of field assistant, as they work with and can learn from the Mine Surveyors.
